Looking to Adopt?
There are so many animals out there waiting for a loving forever home to call their own. Are you ready to take on that responsibility? I’m sure you are motivated to save a life after seeing the heartwarming rescue stories.
There are a few things that you do first!
- Do a little research. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into.
- Understand that animals take time and a lot of responsibility. Don’t get a dog if you work all day and don’t have time to take care and play with them!
- If you are 100% ready to get an animal, make sure to pick up some basics before bringing your new family member home. (ex: water and food bowls, food, a toy, etc.)
When you’re ready to start looking for your furry friend, check out some local adoption shelters. You can even volunteer to get a better feel of what it is like taking care of animals, if you’re still unsure if you’re capable.
Here’s a map I compiled with local Pittsburgh animal shelters and rescue organizations.
